Principal's Message

Good Afternoon Brown Academy Families,

I hope this finds everyone feeling healthy and safe. With school less than a Week away, we know many of you have questions about the start of the school year. This is a stressful time, and we recognize the challenges you all are facing. This includes planning for childcare, managing your work life, worrying about your family's health, in addition to dealing with a global pandemic and the social unrest occurring in our country. Times are not easy.

Our Brown Academy Family strives to support you during this time, easing your stress and anxiety by providing an outstanding education, clear communication, and frequent updates. Final guidance from the District was released a week and a half ago. As a result, our staff have been moving a break neck speed to prepare for school to open in remote Learning.

1) As we know, CPS and Brown Academy  will be engaging in a full Remote Learning model until November 6th. This means that students will not be coming to school and will be learning from home during the 1st quarter.

2) From September 2nd through September 4th, students will be invited to come to the school to pick up books and necessary materials for the 20/21 school year. There will be different slots for our grades and students. All safety protocols will be in place, including the wearing of masks and social distancing. Information about the specifics of this will go out shortly.

3) Administration will be hosting Town Halls September 4th. The purpose of this Town Halls will be to further discuss Remote Learning, and to answer any questions that you may have. More information about these Town Halls will be released shortly.

7) We have a brand new website that will be live shortly. This website will be updated frequently, and will serve as a platform for updated communication.

Please expect detailed and timely updates as we approach the school year. Our Brown Academy Staff is committed to making this a fun, engaging, organized, and academically enriching school year. As always, reach out to any of us with any questions or comments that you may have.

With Brown Academy Pride, R.H.B!!!!!
